Biography
A registered nurse, Candy blames her quirky humor on “survival tactics learned in the trenches of ER” and is proud to have served as clinical preceptor to scores of nurses, paramedics, firefighters and law enforcement officers. Her inspirational story, “By Accident,” written after an equestrian accident that broke her neck, appears in the New York Times bestseller Chicken Soup For the Nurse’s Soul. It marked the beginning of her writing career.
Born and raised in Northern California and the mother of two, Candy now lives with her husband in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. Grueling cruise research for the Darcy Cavanaugh Mystery Series has found her singing with a Newfoundland country band, roaming the ruins of Pompeii, doing the limbo atop a jet-powered catamaran and swimming with stingrays.
